Stefanie Yuen Thio

Stefanie Yuen Thio is Joint Managing Partner of TSMP, heading its transactional practice. Her primary practice area is Mergers and Acquisitions. She is recognised in all her practice areas as a leading lawyer.

She is an adroit negotiator, valued by clients for her commercial savvy and creative solutions in billion-dollar deals, including public takeovers, privatisations and other M&A transactions, as well as IPOs. Her related practice areas include capital markets law and corporate law.

She is a regular guest commentator on the BBC's "Business Matters" and writes op-eds in the Business Times on topics ranging from corporate governance to female empowerment. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

She founded SHE: SG Her Empowerment, an independent non-profit organisation with Institution of Public Character status that strives to empower girls and women through community engagements and partnerships. She has also served in various other charities such as the Community Foundation of Singapore, Dover Park Hospice and Smile Asia.

In 2025, she was appointed a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Corporate Governance Advisory Committee. She also chairs a sub-committee reviewing the Code of Corporate Governance, tasked with considering new provisions or guidance on corporate culture, board effectiveness, and risk management in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence. She was also appointed Singapore's representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) for two terms, from 2025 to 2027.

She holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.
