Tan Xeauwei

Tan Xeauwei is a Partner at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in dispute resolution, corporate litigation, and international arbitration. She is Co‑Head of the Firm's Banking Disputes practice and has substantial experience handling banking disputes, shareholders' and joint venture disputes, trust and property disputes, and commodities disputes. She is effectively bilingual in English and Chinese and has rendered expert opinions for proceedings in England and the People's Republic of China.

Xeauwei has acted for and advised various international and local banks in banking disputes, including enforcement proceedings against assets, trade finance disputes, and defending mis‑selling claims; beneficiaries in claims between family members regarding the validity and scope of wills; professional administrators in relation to the administration of a prominent businessman's estate; various corporations and shareholders in investment or joint venture disputes, breaches of directors' duties, share buy‑outs, minority oppression actions, derivative actions, and just and equitable winding up proceedings; and trading arms of commodities firms in SIAC and ICC arbitrations concerning the sale and purchase of commodities including iron ore and coal. She has also advised banks, business trusts, and private individuals in proceedings concerning trust structures and restructuring.

Xeauwei holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2003, ranking among the top 10 individuals of her year's cohort. She is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators as well as an Accredited Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and a Singapore International Mediation Institute Accredited Mediator Level 1.

She is consistently recognised for her work in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and Benchmark Litigation Asia‑Pacific, where she is ranked as a Litigation Star and listed among the Top 100 Women in Litigation.
