Victor David Lau

Victor David Lau is an Associate Director in the Dispute Resolution practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He is a civil, commercial, and crime disputes specialist with a strong focus on advocacy, handling shareholder disputes, trust disputes, tortious actions, and white‑collar crime.

Victor has defended individuals and companies facing allegations of bribery, cheating, corruption, customs offences, money laundering, and regulatory offences, and has acted in professional disciplinary proceedings and private prosecutions. Notable matters include representing one of the ten accused persons in Singapore's largest money‑laundering probe involving over S$3 billion in seized assets; representing minority shareholders of a special purpose vehicle owning an FPSO vessel in a shareholder dispute, successfully obtaining emergency interim injunctions; representing multiple directors of motor vehicle importers and exporters in customs evasion cases (Low Han Siang v Public Prosecutor [2024] SGHC 217); and advising a global trading platform on the fraudulent misappropriation of funds and cryptocurrency by employees. He also advises on extradition and immigration matters and has a growing investigations practice focused on uncovering fraud and misappropriation within companies.

Victor holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2019. He speaks and writes Mandarin and is conversant in Cantonese, with a significant portion of his clientele based in Greater China.
