Yang Shi Yong

Yang Shi Yong is a Director in the Tax & Private Client Services practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Tax Law. He advises on a wide spectrum of tax matters including corporate and personal income tax, goods and services tax, property tax, stamp duties, customs and excise duties, with a specialisation in enterprise tax risk management, tax audit, and tax investigation matters.

Shi Yong is regularly engaged on contentious and complex tax audit and investigation matters, successfully resolving a high number without prosecution. He has advised leading commercial groups on corporate income tax assessments exceeding S$100 million and persuaded the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore to discharge the assessment. He has also represented clients before the Court of Appeal in property tax cases involving novel issues, and defended professionals against charges under the Income Tax Act. In the oil and gas sector, he advises national oil companies on joint venture arrangements, supply and trading transactions, crude and product swaps, strategic petroleum reserve procurement, and production sharing agreements, including on matters in Dubai and African states.

He holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2006.
