John Goulios

John Goulios is a Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Insurance practices, and serves as Dentons' APAC Region Insurance Leader, specialising in Dispute Resolution. He is a senior insurance and disputes partner with over 35 years' experience acting for global insurers, reinsurers, financial institutions and multinationals across Australia and Asia.

John is a trusted adviser on major claims, class actions, catastrophic losses, transactional and regulatory insurance matters, complex cross-border disputes, international arbitrations, and investigations. He has acted on high-value matters including US$9 billion Russia/Ukraine-related aviation claims, a US$1 billion India flood claim for a European reinsurer, a US$100 million Indonesia construction-defect claim, and represented captive insurers in US climate-change litigation. He also handles D&O exposures, energy and property losses, and has extensive commercial litigation and international arbitration experience involving mining operations, M&A disputes, joint ventures and technology and IP issues.

John holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne (1987), and has completed leadership programs at Harvard Business School and IMD Lausanne.

He is recognised as a Leading Individual for Insurance by Chambers Asia-Pacific (2013–2026) and The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific (2021–2026), and is listed in Best Lawyers in Singapore for Insurance Law.
