Lily GRUBA

Lily Gruba is the Senior Partner and a founding member of Gruba Law, a member of WPG. She specialises in tax law, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and banking and finance. She is a recognised expert in taxation and the author of two taxation law books in the Philippines. She served as Undersecretary of the Department of Finance from 1998 to 2001, and has served as a Philippine Bar examiner for Taxation Law (2007, 2019) and Commercial Law (2012).

She has extensive experience advising clients on complex tax matters, corporate transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. She is a Professor of Taxation Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Local Government Finance at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where she also serves as Executive Director of the Fr. Joaquin, SJ Institute for Continuing Legal Education. She is a current Director of Asia United Bank and has previously served as Associate Dean of the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law.

She holds a Juris Doctor from Ateneo de Manila University College of Law (1976), a Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center (1981), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1977.
