Shirin Swah

Shirin Swah is a Partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team at Shook Lin & Bok LLP, specialising in dispute resolution, employment law, and commercial litigation. She has a diverse practice encompassing employment disputes, debt recovery and banking litigation, restructuring and insolvency, and building and construction disputes.

Shirin has acted for major local banks and financial institutions, multinational corporations, local construction companies, and insolvency practitioners. She advises banks on enforcement and recovery proceedings, and acts for employers on retrenchment exercises, disciplinary proceedings, terminations, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. She has obtained interlocutory injunctions to restrain former employees from joining competitors in breach of restrictive covenants, including in MoneySmart Singapore Pte Ltd v Artem Musienko [2024] SGHC 94. In restructuring and insolvency, she has acted for the Envy Companies and their liquidators in proceedings to recover approximately S$45.7 million, and for Superpark Oy in resisting the voluntary liquidation of its Singapore subsidiary in a landmark Court of Appeal decision. She also has significant experience in construction adjudication proceedings under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act and has acted for clients on projects valued at up to S$68 million.

Shirin holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Warwick (2014) and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2016.
