Toh Jia Yi

Toh Jia Yi is a Partner in the Firm's Intellectual Property, Litigation, International Arbitration, and Cybersecurity & Data Protection Practices at Allen & Gledhill, specialising in intellectual property law, dispute resolution, and international arbitration. She handles contentious and non‑contentious intellectual property matters involving patents, trade marks, copyright, designs, domain names, and confidential information, and represents clients in a wide range of commercial disputes including contractual disputes, IP and technology disputes, shareholder disputes, breach of directors' duties, and employment disputes.

Jia Yi also has niche expertise in public and administrative law, having advised and acted for both statutory boards and private corporations in matters of judicial review and ministerial appeals. She has deep experience across both litigation and arbitration, providing strategic counsel in complex commercial and IP‑related matters. She is an Accredited Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.

Jia Yi holds a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Cambridge, where she won several university prizes including the Norton Rose Prize for Commercial Law. She was called to the Singapore Bar in 2013 and rejoined the firm in 2017 after two years with the Singapore Legal Service, where she undertook law reform and legal policy work.

She is recognised as a 'Future Star' in Intellectual Property by Benchmark Litigation, and is recommended by IAM Patent 1000 and IP Stars. She serves as Co‑Chairperson of the Young Practitioners' Network and Council Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb), Core Committee Member of the ICC Singapore Arbitration Group, and has been appointed to the Supreme Court's Intellectual Property Court Users' Committee. She is also Co‑Vice Chairperson of the Law Society's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Committee.
