Tan Jin Wei

Tan Jin Wei is a Director in the Corporate & Finance practice at Drew & Napier, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. His practice encompasses M&A, private equity and venture capital investments, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations, capital markets transactions, corporate governance, and restructuring. He has experience in both private and public M&A transactions, acting for bidders, vendors, target companies, and financial advisers.

Jin Wei has advised on numerous significant transactions, including advising Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust on its privatisation via a trust scheme, resulting in an enlarged REIT with over S$17 billion in assets; advising IBS Software on a sell‑side auction process involving the sale of a significant minority stake for approximately US$450 million (Deals of the Year 2023, India Business Law Journal); advising OCBC Bank, Great Eastern, and the Lee Family on the divestment of their equity interests in United Engineers and WBL collectively valued at S$1.83 billion; advising Temasek Holdings on its S$2.57 billion acquisition of SMRT Corporation ("Best Privatization" Asset Triple A Country Awards 2016); and advising COSCO Shipping International on its S$488 million voluntary general offer for Cogent Holdings.

Jin Wei holds an LL.B. (Hons) from King's College London (2013) and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2015. He is also a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales (2020, non‑practising). He has previously practiced at "white shoe" U.S. and "magic circle" U.K. law firms, advising on cross‑border transactions across financial services, real estate, energy, hospitality, technology, and industrials sectors.
